Who I am

My grandmother bought me my first sewing machine when I was twelve years old and I’ve been designing clothing since I was six. I would draw outfits for my parents and brother for each day of the week and played a lot of dress up. Design seemed to be my calling. The decision to pursue fashion design was a difficult one; the industry, huge and competitive, the market, saturated with plenty of talented designers. How would I ever find success in this business? After years of trying to take other career paths I decided to get my degree in fashion at age 28, presenting my graduation collection three months postpartum. The challenge made me realize I had a whole lot more gumption and capability than I had given myself credit for. After exploring several fashion avenues, I decided to dive into freelancing, specializing in women’s and children’s ready to wear clothing.
